Death’s Occluding Blind
What happens to the souls
Of those who die?.
Can such immeasureable,
Intangible,
Sentient phenomena
Survive ex corpore?.
Some say that souls, at death,
Migrate to bring
Life to a baby being born
At that same time;
Others say souls are our minds
So die with brain and flesh.
If souls are humanity’s
Quintessences,
Should we not try to prove
Whether they outlive
Post carne mortuum,
Or just disintegrate?
Why should we fear what we might meet behind
The mystery of death’s occluding blind?.
